Maersk Sealand is under pressure from European competition bosses to pull takeover target Royal P&O Nedlloyd out of all its consortia agreements.

Some 45% of P&O Nedlloyd's fleet is wrapped up in services operated by the Grand Alliance, which has already accepted that it will lose the line as a partner.

But P&O Nedlloyd is also involved in another 20-plus vessel-sharing consortia, in many of which it is a lead partner.
