The name Mallory Jones Lynch Flynn & Associates was always quite a mouthful and perhaps evoked a law firm more than a ship brokerage. Small wonder that the maritime community quickly adopted "MJLF" as shorthand.
Now it is official. The Connecticut company has formally adopted the abridged moniker as part of a "rebranding" that closes out what its leaders admit has been a difficult 30th year in its life as a major US tanker brokerage.
