Ferry services along Scotland’s west coast are providing valuable contracts for European shipyards.
Germany’s Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft (FSG) has been named as preferred builder for a new fuel-efficient passenger ro-ro that Caledonian Maritime Assets (CMAL) will lease from Lloyds Banking Group (LBG).
Also, UK-based Cammell Laird has won the contract to build two car ferries for Western Ferries after earlier being named as preferred bidder.
