Oilfield-services player OSX Brasil has this week secured a priority committment of $736m from a national Brazilian fund to build its yard at the Superporto do Acu area.

The UCN Acu facility is under construction now, with yard operations to begin in the next quarter and project completion set for 2014, at an estimated total investment of $2.35bn.

In June, Brazil’s Fundo da Marinha Mercante (FMM), or merchant marine fund, was also behind long-term financing of $1.33bn
