Japan is emerging as a potential alternative market for Vale’s Valemax ore carriers, which have been blocked from their intended trading market in China.

The Vale Minas Gerais unloaded at Philippine Sinter Corp’s Mindanao plant earlier this month on its first fixture after being delivered from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and taking on the cargo at Ponta da Madeira.
