An Evergas order for a series of small-scale LNG carriers against charter deals for a long-haul ethane trade between the US and Europe is a pioneering move that could signal the way for future gas newbuildings, market experts say.
Copenhagen-based Evergas has inked at least four 27,500-cbm vessels at Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering’s Qidong facility in China.
Industry sources say the dual-fuel ships are priced at $64m each.
