The KG (limited partnership) owners of the 175,000-dwt King Robert (built 2008) have joined the growing list of one-ship companies filing for insolvency.

The fund has been struggling with solvency issues after being caught up in the troubles of Japanese owner Sanko Steamship, which stopped paying hire on the vessel last summer.

“What happens next is in the hands of the administrator and the bank,” said Tobias Konig, managing partner of Konig & Cie, the issuing house that raised funds on the vessel.
