W-Marine back in action with purchase of bulker resale at STX Dalian

W-Marine of Greece has pulled off its first vessel acqusition since 2007.

The company has purchased Hull No D2061 at STX Dalian Shipbuilding, a 83,000-dwt bulker set for delivery in June this year, from STX PanOcean of South Korea.

Sources say the newbuilding has changed hands for $25.4m, similar to the reported $25m for a sistership said to be in the process of being acquired by another Greek owner and understood to have a October 2013 delivery date.
