Singapore-based Komaya Shipping has returned to Asakawa Shipbuilding of Japan for two 11,000-cbm pressurised LPG carriers.
The ships, set for delivery in 2014 and 2015, are being ordered against long-term employment with Vitol for five to 10 years.
Depending on specifications, they are said to be costing between $27m and $29m each.
Due to the weaker Japanese yen, shipyards in the country are becoming increasingly competitive, particularly in this segment.
