J Lauritzen has ruled out any imminent disposal of its two capesize bulkers dumped by STX Pan Ocean in a week that saw it complete the sale of its products tanker business to Hafnia.

Lauritzen chief executive Jan Kastrup-Nielsen had previously suggested the duo could follow other capesizes, which suffered charter defaults, out of the door at the Danish owner.

Now he says the company is unlikely to sell any capesizes before the third quarter of next year, given each of its four owned vessels have contracts in place until at least that time.
