BP Shipping is in negotiations with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) for up to 20 medium-range (MR) products tanker newbuildings.
Brokers are reporting that HMD looks poised to scoop a deal for five firm wide-bodied 40,000-dwt vessels and a further quintet of 51,000-dwt ships.
A further five optional slots have been secured for each size of ship.
Delivery dates are expected to span the 2015 to 2016 period.
