BP Shipping has wrapped up the year by concluding an order for 14 medium-range (MR) products tankers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) worth around $600m.
The company confirms to TradeWinds that it has signed a deal with HMD for the vessels.
Nine of the newbuildings are understood to be for 50,000-dwt ships, with the balance being for vessels of 40,000 dwt. No optional slots have been mentioned in connection with the contracts.
