J Lauritzen has returned to the dry cargo newbuilding arena for the first time in four years after completing the sale of two tanker divisions in quick succession.
Chief executive Jan Kastrup-Nielsen tells TradeWinds that the Danish owner has booked a pair of 61,000-dwt ships in China and a couple of 63,000-dwt vessels in Japan in what are its first fresh newbuilding contracts since 2010.
