Maran Gas Maritime is rumoured to have fixed two more LNG carriers after confirming a pair of newbuilding options at DSME.
Brokers say John Angelicoussis, who controls Maran Gas, does not order on speculation and has traditionally opted to keep only one or two of the company’s LNG fleet open for future spot business.
In September, the company’s fleet list unusually showed three uncommitted vessels but, at the time, yards said BG Group was looking to take additional tonnage in the form of at least two ships apiece from its two favoured owners, Maran and GasLog.
