Just a decade ago, no one had to consider the fuel they would burn when ordering a ship. But in the last 10 years, the options for vessel designs have proliferated as environmental concerns have multiplied.
A report into the future direction of bunker markets issued by Lloyd’s Register (see story, page 24) does not pretend to provide answers but it does point a spotlight at a number of questions that shipowners and operators will need to keep addressing over the next few years.
