A speculatively ordered LNG carrier newbuilding controlled by John Fredriksen’s Golar LNG appears to have been detailed for layup as the Norwegian owner continues talks on delays to the delivery of its remaining 10-ship haul.
This week, AIS electronic data for the 160,000-cbm Golar Penguin lists “layup” under the ship’s destination. The vessel, which has been constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), currently appears to be positioned just off Geoje Island in South Korea.
