Subsea players Technip, Heerema Marine Contractors and Aker Solutions have between them landed a whopping $5.9bn-worth of work related to French oil giant Total’s subsea development off Angola this week.

A French-Dutch strategic alliance on the contractors side — between Euronext Paris-listed Technip, with 55%, and private company Heerema, with 45% — won a lump-sum deal worth $3.5bn to carry out engineering, procurement, installation and construction (EPIC) and pre-commissioning for the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF).
