The 107,000-dwt Amba Bhavanee (built 2003) was set to be auctioned last Monday by order of the Court of First Instance on the Caribbean island of Aruba.
According to attorney K Boele of Rotterdam-based legal firm Wybenga Advocaten, the creditors of the ship’s crew withdrew the case after Varun finally agreed to pay back wages and additional compensation, which allows the vessel to leave.
