Bergen-based offshore contractor Norshore has won a breakthrough contract in Malaysia for its ship-shaped top-hole drilling vessel, the 115-metre Norshore Atlantic (built 2014).
Delivered in March from Otto Marine’s PT Batamec yard in Indonesia, the Norshore Atlantic has a firm contract in place with Sabah Shell Petroleum for the Malikai field in Malaysia.
Designed by Norway’s Marin Teknikk (MT), the MT 6022 XL design is aimed at the new extreme-niche market called top-hole drilling.
