Demand for Jones Act products tankers has shot up in recent years thanks to the shale-oil revolution in the US but this is not the only type of tonnage cashing in on the action.
US operators like Kirby Corp, Moran Towing and Seacor Holdings have jumped on the articulated-tug barge (ATB) bandwagon and some forecasters believe others will follow suit with newbuilding orders of their own at domestic yards in the months to come.
