Details of a raft of recently concluded spot LNG carrier fixtures have emerged that peg daily rates at slightly weaker levels.
Brokers and traders say levels for dual-fuel diesel-electric (DFDE) LNG carriers are around the mid to high $50,000s, a slide from the $60,000-per-day rates seen earlier.
But they say rates for steam turbine-driven vessels have now slipped to daily levels in the $40,000 range, with some ranking them below this, down from daily charter hires of $50,000 to $55,000 detailed in April.
