Noble Group has entered the fight over the 169,000-dwt Cape Viewer (built 1995) with a request to arrest the ship over an allegedly breached charter.
If granted, it would be the third seizure order slapped on the Vista Shipping-controlled combination carrier (OBO).
Hong Kong-based Noble had chartered the ship from Vista to carry a cargo of coal from Norfolk to Rotterdam.
Noble alleges that the nearly 105,000-metric-tonne cargo was loaded on the vessel in November even though it was already under a federal court seizure order.
