The core fleet consists of four modern 4,300-dwt stainless-steel tankers on five-year charters to chemical tanker giant Stolt-Nielsen, which has an option either to extend the charter or buy the ships when the current deal expires in 2016. The tankers were ordered in China for $20m each.
In 2008, following an agreement with Nordea Bank, Brovig took over six products/chemical tankers of collapsed Swedish owner Svithoid Tankers.
