Justice Nilay V Anjaria of Gujarat High Court last week ordered the seizure of the 75,200-dwt panamax Kayu Ramin (built 1995), which is owned by Jakarta-based Pann Parsero PT, following action by Mumbai-based Tata Chemicals.
Tata Chemicals, which is part of India’s Tata Group conglomerate, claims that a cargo of 35,120 tonnes of diammonium phosphate (DAP) was loaded onto the ship at Nantong in China for delivery at state-owned Kandla port on the west coast of India, say Ahmedabad-based sources.
