The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is celebrating a year since the entry into force of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 with a video outlining how it is already changing seafarers’ lives.
The video documentary looks at the lives of seafarers onboard the 9,200-teu boxship APL Boston (built 2013) as an example of the conditions under which they work, on a vessel with full compliance with the convention.
