SeaBird is to cover a minimum of 1,450 square kilometers in the Gulf of Guinea, using its eight-streamer Geo Pacific (built 1987, rebuilt 2003), to carry out three dimensional (3D) data acquisition for an unnamed client.

The project is due to start in the middle of the third quarter of this year and last for about 78 days. Given the contract value, DNG analysts put the 27-year-old seismic vessel’s rate at about $140,000 per day.
