International Shipholding Corp (ISC)’s CG Railway, which operates a rail ferry between the US and Mexico, has completed its 1,000th voyage across the Gulf of Mexico (GoM).

CG Railway has been operating the Short Line service since 2001, linking Mobile, Alabama, with Coatzacoalcos in Mexico’s Veracruz state.

The 24,200-gt Banda Sea and Bali Sea (both built 1982) can each carry an average of 115 railcars per journey, offering a shortsea shortcut to overland rail routes traversing the US Gulf Coast and eastern Mexico.
