The broker has launched a new smartphone alerting system for clients with the news that it is hearing there could be a reduction in the reinsurance tariff at the February renewal.
Gallagher concedes that the bill for the two most costly claims in P&I history, the Costa Concordia cruiseship disaster and loss of the boxship Rena has mounted during the year, but, in the first newsflash of its alerting system, said: “We kick off with news that, although six months away, speculation is already spreading that the group reinsurance premiums will reduce at renewal, giving some good news to shipowners.”
