The widow of an AP Moller-Maersk master has sued the shipping giant’s US-flag arm over the company’s response to a stroke while on a containership in the Gulf of Oman.

A lawyer for Vicki George, whose husband, Gregory George, was master of the 6,200-teu Maersk Denver (built 2007), claims that after he suffered a stroke in August 2013, US-based Maersk Line Limited (MLL) ordered the ship to steam to Muscat instead of arranging a helicopter evacuation.
