In an announcement this week, TIL did not disclose the identity of the ship but did say it had paid $46.15m for it.
The Pacific Poppy has been the subject of previous sales speculation. In 2011, it was linked to Greek owner Polembros Shipping at $48.5m but no deal materialised.
In June this year, it was linked to Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime Agencies but again there was no sale.
