One-ship owner Blueshell Shipping has filed papers in Panama’s First Maritime Tribunal asking Magistrate Calixto Malcom to limit its liability to just $37,800 in the incident, according to the court docket and a lawyer for the shipowner.
The filing lists three potential claimants against Blueshell: Larisa and Elena Ustyuzhanin and Dimitry Ustyuzhanin.
Details of the incident have not been made public but Celma Moncada, whose Moncada & Moncada law firm filed the case on Blueshell’s behalf, confirms it concerns the death of a seafarer.
