Late last week, FreeSeas announced it had sold the Nantong Cosco-built, 42,000-dwt Free Jupiter (built 2002) to an undisclosed buyer for nearly $12.3m. The deal includes a seven-year bareboat charter back to FreeSeas for $5,325 per day, with options to repurchase. FreeSeas has deposited $3.75m as security for the charter. TradeWinds can reveal that the KS (limited partnership) set up to own the handymax was established by syndicator Ness Risan & Partners (NRP) in the Norwegian capital.
