The Shenzhen-listed company announced that subsidiary Oriental Energy Singapore has agreed to charter the five 85,000-cbm gas carriers for 10 years, plus options for a further five years.

It says the annual rate per ship does not exceed $24m and includes entertainment expenses and shipmanagement fees. Oriental Energy and Singapore-based Greenship Holdings Trust are acting as guarantors for the contract.

Oriental did not disclose where the vessels will be built but that they are slated for delivery between May 2017 and January 2018.
