LGC brokers say vessels belonging to quality operators like BW do not have to discount rates because of age. It is believed the 57,000-cbm BW Havis (built 1993) and Havfrost (built 1991) have achieved $1.5m per month, or $50,000 per day, on one-year charters to Petredec. “This is just a phenomenal deal for BW,” one broker commented.
All the five LGCs in the BW fleet are believed to have time charters.
