TradeWinds sources say the company has acquired the 170,000-dwt Cape Hope 2 (built 2000).
The Shoei Kisen-controlled ship, which was built by Koyo Dockyard Co, is said to have changed hands for $22m, which is in line with market expectations.
The Cape Hope 2 would be the oldest capesize in the Navios Maritime fleet, although it has both panamax and supramax tonnage built in the same year.
