Bob Burke’s Ridgebury Tankers has entered the aframax market with the purchase of two vessels from UK hedge fund Tufton Oceanic.
Ridgebury is understood to have bought the 105,000-dwt pair ACS Bright and ACS Brave (both built 2003), independent shipbrokers say.
Burke declined to comment on the matter when contacted by TradeWinds this week.
It is understood Sinokor of South Korea was also interested in the vessels but Ridgebury stepped in to complete the deal.
