Sources claim the Filippos Begleris-run company has bought the Japanese-controlled, 69,000-dwt Pleiades (built 1997).
The Imabari-built vessel, which is said to be changing hands for $7.7m, is due for special survey in July next year.
The deal shows how prices of bulkers have been falling this year. In March, the Hitachi-built, 71,000-dwt Giant Pescadores (built 1998) was sold for $11.7m.
Little-known Arion is listed with a fleet of four vessels, all panamax bulkers.
