Marine geophysical player Polarcus says it has secured “strong industry support” for its latest multi-client (MC) survey off Australia, which will employ two of its vessels for four months and then leave the ships well positioned for upcoming work off Sakhalin in 2015.
Dubbed the “Capreolus 3D” survey, this work is seen as a positive for the overall segment because it will remove two high-end ships from the highly competitive market, which has been under considerable pressure following cuts in exploration and production (E&P) spending.
