The Swedish company is said to have taken two 49,000-dwt newbuildings set for delivery from Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard in 2015 for three years at $15,950 per day. The deal includes options for one year at $17,200 per day and a second at $18,100 per day.
Stena Bulk has also reportedly fixed the 49,000-dwt Stena Weco Energy (built 2014) for five years at $16,400 per day, with two optional years at the same rate as the other two tankers.
