South Korea’s Daelim Corp appears ready to reduce its tanker fleet further following the sale of the 109,000-dwt long-range-two (LR2) tanker DL Iris (built 1998) earlier this month.
The Dalian-built vessel has been sold to Jakarta-based Soechi Lines for $10.3m. Daelim paid as much as $46m for the tanker as Seastar in 2004, and a source says it has been sold because of its age and high maintenance costs.
