The company managed to sell its fleet just before the market crashed and, according to its website, is “constantly considering new projects and markets” within shipping.

But owner Jan Olav Tonnevold remains sceptical about the future prospects for shipping.

“Shipyard overcapacity is huge, interest rates are low and players with no previous engagement in the industry are entering,” he said.

At the same time, Tonnevolds’ property and venture projects have not been a big success either.
