Sources say Shelton has tied up the Hitachi-built, 75,000-dwt Marina (built 2000) for a firm $11.75m.
Online platform Vessels-Value.com says it is worth $10.3m.
The Marina is due for special survey in April next year.
Martis Culucundis-led Shelton had not responded to a request for comment by TradeWinds’ press time.
The low-key Greek owner is listed with two panamaxes similar to the Marina.
The Mitsui-built, 75,600-dwt Agnes (built 1999) was purchased as Carol for $14.2m
