Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) announced this week that it had completed a transaction to buy the 20,700-gt cruiseship Astor (built 1987) from Premicon Hochseekreuzfahrt GmbH & Co KG MS Astor, a single-ship owning entity that declared bankruptcy in early November.
The official purchaser of the ship is CMV’s majority shareholder, the Global Maritime Group (GMG), a Greco-German company that also has ownership interests in the 22,100-gt cruiseship Marco Polo (built 1965).
