The Danish operator will take the 5,001-teu newbuilding JPO Atair for three years at a rate of $19,700 per day, say brokers.
The vessel is slated for delivery next month from Samjin Shipbuilding Industries (SSI).
The rate is around $2,000 per day above the market level for a 12-month fixture for this size of vessel. South Korean operator KMTC recently fixed another wide-beam vessel, the 5,029-teu Hyundai Paramount (built 2013), for 40 to 60 days at $17,500 per day.
