The KRG and Iraq’s Ministry of Oil have continued to trade blows in the federal court in Galveston over whether the regional government has the right to export oil, even though Marine Management Services (MMS)’s 159,000-dwt United Kalavryta (built 2005) left its holding position off the US with the cargo that sparked the litigation.

KRG’s Chaffe McCall lawyers have filed papers with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans challenging a January decision by District Judge Gray Miller, who denied the regional government’s request to throw out the lawsuit.
