Gail (India) plans to reissue an LNG newbuilding tender and seek a number of chartered bridging vessels, after several previous attempts to attract bidders drew a blank.

Sources close to New Delhi-headquartered Gail indicate company officials are preparing a revised tender that would soften the Indian content requirement specified in the business circulated to the market last year.

This most recent tender for up to nine newbuildings detailed that at least one in each group of three that owners could offer in on had to be built at an Indian yard.
