Fratelli D’Amato Armatori has sold its three post-panamax newbuildings to Rickmers Reederei, which has in turn fixed them on long-term charter to French line CMA CGM.
The 9,200-teu newbuildings, originally ordered by Italian shipowner Luigi d’Amato, are understood to have been sold for an estimated $255m to the Bertram Rickmers-controlled company in partnership with its US financial partner, Apollo Global Management.
