In a request to the US Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, the New York tanker owner alleges that the lawsuit by Shirelle Washington violates the court’s order barring such filings for any claims that predate the company’s Chapter 11 case.
Washington filed the case in the federal court in New Orleans last month after her husband, Stanley Washington, died of lung cancer allegedly caused by asbestos exposure.
