IHI says it is set to register a ¥5.3bn ($44m) loss linked to its investment in Brazilian facility Estaleiro Atlantico Sul (EAS).
It says the losses came as the company is “facing a difficult financial condition as a result of the economic uncertainty and weak business environment in Brazil”.
The Japanese company hinted there may be more troubles to come.
