Caravel Shipping is ready again to pull the trigger on its long-announced intention to become a shipowner.

Caravel principal and former Noble Group partner Harry Banga announced just over one year ago that he intended to acquire an owned dry bulk fleet to support the trading activities of his new start-up. That has not happened.

Banga and his son, Angad, tell TradeWinds that by August of last year, they had decided — partly on the basis of their outlook on the pace of Chinese infrastructure growth — that the moment was not ripe.
